Hello! I'm Tamara, and I love all things fabric, quilts, and sewing.

For as long as I can remember, I've always been creating something. As a young girl, I watched my grandmother constantly making new things — from knitting to scrapbooking to painting, she was always working on something wonderful. I loved sneaking a peek into her craft room just to see what she was making next.

I also attended a girls' group called Calvinettes, where we did Bible study and made a craft each time. That group introduced me to so many different ways to create with my hands.

As I got older, I tried all kinds of handmade projects — scrapbooking, crochet, card making, woodworking, small home décor projects, sewing, and quilting. I eventually landed on sewing as my go-to hobby, and I've never looked back.

I get so much joy from looking around my home and seeing the things I've made — from coffee tables to rag quilts. Creating is what brings me joy. And that's exactly why I named this place Tamara's Joy.

I also love sharing and teaching simple projects. I do this regularly through my YouTube channel, where you'll find easy, beginner-friendly sewing tutorials.

Over time, I received so many requests for printable patterns that I decided to open my shop. These patterns take a lot of time and care to create, so I do sell them for a small fee — your support means the world to me and helps me keep making free tutorials for you!

A little more about me: I'm a wife and mom to two wonderful boys who came to us through adoption. I'm proudly Canadian, recently entered my 40s (which my boys love to remind me of!), and most importantly, I'm a Christian.
